    Coriander isn’t an unusual spice or herb, especially in India.  Being one of the common spices used in all Indian curries, coriander provides a delicious taste to all cuisines. Apart from adding mouth-watering flavour to the dishes, it also increases the nutritional value of the food. Coriander belongs to the Apiaceae family, in the genus Coriandrum. It is a small aromatic herb that has a lot of culinary uses across the globe. It is filled with fibres that improve digestion and are good to improve bowel movement. It has anti-diabetic properties and promotes insulin growth. It is known for its medicinal properties, used to cure allergies, eye infections, anaemia etc.
    Whole seeds can be added to baked goods, pickled vegetables, rubs, roasted vegetables, and cooked lentil dishes. Warming them releases their aroma, following which they can be ground for use in pastes and doughs.
